Felcloth farming guide

What is the difference between a Grell and an Imp? Well, a Grell is a forest spirit that although might resemble an Imp, it lacks the trademark horns, they are not demonic but instead are nature attuned, and have nothing to do with the Fel energies. So to my fellow lore nerds out there, grit your teeth and start making angry forum posts because the Misty Grell in the Swamp of Sorrows is basically a green Fel Imp. Thank to this ‘feature’ offered by Blizz we do have a chance to make some easy coinage.

Felcloth

Felcloth can be valuable at the auction house.

In the Northwest of the Swamp of Sorrows lies a small valley that the locals tend to stay away from. The Misty Valley is the home of the aptly named Misty Grells that reside there, who are most certainly not Imps. The broken horns that you loot from them? Pay no mind. The Fel Fireballs they are tossing your way? I’m sure there is a perfectly good lore reason for it. The Felcloth they drop? Don’t mind if I do.

Misty Grell

Misty Grell mob.

Felcloth is a more annoying tailoring material to gather because it only drops from demons, and Post Shattering of Cata many mobs were removed that used to be a good source of the material. Well, thanks to the Misty Grells our cloth shortage is over because these buggers have plenty.

The Grells have around a 8%-14% chance to drop a single Felcloth, but occasionally they do drop a second as well. The mobs are plentiful in this area and since they are tied to a quest they will spawn endlessly. So blast away and collect your cloth.

You can use the following macro.

/cleartarget

/target Misty

/cast sunfire

Sunfire assumes that you are a druid. For other classes, use another attack spell or ability instead, preferably one that is instant.

Additional notes:

  • Rare Mob – Orlix the Swamplord is a rare beast mob that spawns in the middle of the swamp. He can be tamed by Hunters, or killed for the sweet loot he drops (just average green/uncommon quality items).
  • Hyperspawn – These mobs are part of a quest, meaning that the game will force spawn mobs if there is only a small number available. The faster you kill the mobs the faster they will spawn.
  • Group Farm – Because this is a hyperspawn, invite your friends to a group, spread out, and kill everything together. The faster the mobs die the faster they respawn.
